Uruguay is a beautiful country filled with friendly people. Unfortunately it has long been known as a secular society with atheism and agnosticism being among the highest rates in the world. Anti-Christian legislation, the normalization of immoral lifestyles, and a general disregard for religion of any kind have all been the result of one thing - unbelief. Scripture says “Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” (Rom. 10:17) The Brileys are taking the Gospel to Uruguay and praying for a revival of belief in this needy nation.

Why Uruguay?

During their dating years, John and Beth connected heavily over the desire and passion to serve God full-time in ministry. Since then they have been serving in ministry both full-time and part-time, all the while having a yearning for missions.

John grew up in Costa Rica, Beth in Uruguay, both as missionary kids. Consequently, they have always had a special place in their hearts for Uruguay. They have remained connected to the people there, taken several trips, and done ministry alongside Beth’s parents who continue serving in the country.

Looking back over the years, it’s obvious how God has been orchestrating and preparing the Brileys for ministry in Uruguay. Through Scripture, godly counsel, peace in prayer, and divine circumstances, God has confirmed this direction for their family again and again. They are humbled and amazed at the goodness of God. This has been a journey of faith, growth, and surrender, and John and Beth are excited about what God is going to do for His glory as they follow His leading.
